I"m Not Dead

Soooooo, I'm a rotten blogger. What can i say, life gets in the way. My daughter, Casey, said I should make a blog and I had to confess that I had one, just hadn't been there in years. Now that I think of it, I used to enjoy sharing my craft and gardening adventures. Well, here we go again.
Nowdays, I just do my thing. I don't have a job anymore. That just breaks my heart (yeah, right). I don't garden as much as I used to. Working at Bloomington Valley Nursery kinda ruined it for me. i should have quit 2 years earlier. Be that as it may, life goes on. I did make a memorial garden at our fire station for fire family that we have lost over the years. I made it with fire-themed plants. Burning bush, firehouse nandina, goldflame honeysuckle, etc. You get the point. Summer was so dry for so long, I couldn't keep it watered enough and I think I lost most of the plants. I'll find out come spring and replant what I have to.
I still crochet. Made some hats, scarves, preemie blankets, and assorted doodads. Now I've got a square lap loom, a 5 foot triangle weaving loom and the makings for a 3 foot one. I can make shawls, ponchos, and scarves. It's something to keep me busy during the winter so I don't go stir-crazy and do something drastic, like housework. My first shawl came out real funky and droopy (woven too loose) and now that I have it figured out, I've put it back on the loom and am adding more yarn to firm it up. I took a picture after I made it, so when I get it fixed, I'll post before and after pictures. And if I get to it, I'll take pics of some of the other projects I've done. For now, I gotta get back to the loom. A good family friend says I'm a loomatic. Ha, good one, Larry.
